It shouldn’t surprise anyone, though it is amusing in a kind of perverse way, that Obama is now waffling and backing away from tackling immigration legislation, after having reacted with such indignant aversion to the new “law” in Arizona that allows the police to get a lot tougher when it comes to attempting to detect “illegal aliens.”
In an article by Julie Pace, writing for the Associated Press titled, “Obama: Congress May Not Tackle Immigration Soon,” it says:
“With energy legislation on the table and midterm elections approaching, Obama said he didn’t want to force an immigration bill through Congress ‘just for the sake of politics.’ Still, he said discussions on the issue must move forward in a way that can garner the support of the American people.
“’We’ve gone though a very tough year and I’ve been working Congress very hard, so I know there may not be an appetite immediately to dive into another controversial issue.’”
So it was of paramount importance then, to push through mandatory health care for nearly all Americans. It begins to make a kind of sense – if you’re as evil as a politician or other bureaucrat. Another way to bolster the welfare state is to make it as easy as possible for immigrants to get to and stay in America.
Now, don’t get me wrong: Political borders are nothing but arbitrary territories carved out by domineering armed thugs; no different really than turf in Mafia family discords, or street gang wars. But tax-financed welfare is payed by the populace and government gunpoint, and it is quite apparent that lax immigration enforcement is being used to create more and more dependency. After all, how angry could anyone except a minority of racist xenophobes be if no immigrant – just like no American – could expect to sponge off of others at gunpoint in the form of Social Security, public schools, food stamps, and direct financial assistance? Immigration and borders would be no issue then. Exactly what governments don’t want.
Thus, such duplicity on the part of Obama becomes pretty clear. It all aims, when one looks beyond the surface, towards a concentrated goal: Squeeze Americans with yet higher taxes by forcing them to buy health insurance (thus also providing the entire health care industry with guaranteed subsidization, thus creating more corporate dependency as well – just as most of the states have long since done with regard to mandatory auto-insurance policies), while expanding the base of those who will receive health care at American taxpayer expense, along with myriads of other welfare entitlements.
It’s a sick and cynical thing, this monster known as government. By its very nature it distorts and obfuscates the truth in order to accrue supporters to itself, and ever grow and expand its brutal powers. Polar opposite the mythology, humanity cannot long survive – certainly not in any meaningful or agreeable condition – if governments are permitted to continue to exist. We must without compromise dedicate ourselves to promoting a culture of anti-statism and free markets – anarchism – if we are ever to stop the growing madness of a world where a monopolistic entity of brute force controls our lives, liberty, and property without so much as an apology.
