Dear C4SS Supporters,
The bad news: So far, I’ve only detected four “mainstream media pickups” of Center op-eds this week.
The good news: Two of those four pickups are in papers we’ve never been picked up by before, in US states where we haven’t had a lot of exposure!
- On August 28, my recent piece, “The State vs. Anarchists,” ran in the Dhaka, Bangladesh New Nation.
- Also on August 28, the Baltic Review (published in Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia and Germany) published David D’Amato’s “Getting Libya Governed ‘Right.'”
- On August 30, the Southgate, Michigan News-Herald ran David D’Amato’s “Real Welfare Reform,” as “Poor get ‘raw deal’ in the US.”
- On September 2, Massachusetts’s South Coast Today ran David’s “Condeming Politics Itself,” as “National View: Poll number condemn[s] politics itself.”
I’m still shooting for ten pickups a week, and consider five — one per weekday — the bare minimum acceptable results … but any week in which we open two new media markets to the market anarchist message ain’t all bad.
This week’s pseudo-random reciprocal blogospheric link love: Decisions, Decisions, Decisions, People v. State, and Anti-Libertarian Libertarianism (hey, you don’t have to LIKE us to get a kiss thrown back at you!).
Our 3rd quarter fundraiser didn’t do too well, guys … but I still got a little bit of back pay, and made my usual in-kind contribution by covering two more months of service to the C4SS batphone — 530-618-C4SS, if you ever have occasion to call. It doesn’t ring every day, but when it does ring it’s usually a newspaper editor on the other end asking about, or wanting to confirm that he’s about to print, one of our pieces.
Our 4th quarter fundraiser will be starting soon. My rapidly dwindling ramen stockpile thanks you in advance for your support.
Have a great weekend!
Yours in liberty,
Tom Knapp
