A few months back I released a Flash version of a widget to display a scrolling list of C4SS news items.

Today, I’m pleased to announce the release of a much more flexible, nay, sexier version of the widget, this time written in 100% pure javascript. The new version provides 15 customizable parameters, allowing you to tailor its look to fit your website perfectly. Check it out at the C4SS News Widget page above. As usual, I’ve deployed it successfully to my own site, www.nostate.com.

The widget has been tested successfully in MSIE 6, 7, 8 and 9; Firefox 2.0, 3.0, 3.5, 3.6 and 4.0beta2; Opera 9 and 10; Google Chrome 6 and Safari 5. Likewise with the widget creator page, though a bit of it doesn’t display quite properly yet in MSIE9.

I’m very interested in feedback regarding the widget and the widget creator, especially browser compatibility issues. Please leave those in the comments.
