Dear C4SS supporters,

A pretty brisk week, with some very nice highlights!

So far I’ve detected 12 “mainstream media pickups” since my last weekly update (some of them occurred before that update, but only turned up in my search engine wanderings later):

• Kevin Carson’s “Greenwashed Corporatism is Still Corporatism” ran in the Des Moines, Iowa Free Press on Jan. 12, and as “Capitalistocracy: ‘Green Fascism’ places alternative energy in the hands of Big Business exploiters” in The Canadian on Jan. 18.
• Quebecois Libre published David D’Amato’s “Bribery, Thy Name is Government” on Jan. 15.
• Kevin Carson’s “The Rent is Still Too Damn High — Here’s How to Lower It” brought us our first eastern European pickup on Jan. 16 in Sagittarius News & Style Magazine (which covers Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia and Germany, and seems to be a companion publication of the distinquished Baltic Review); our first African pickup on Jan. 20 in the Malawi Nation; and ran in the Dhaka, Bangladesh New Age on Jan. 18.
• Darian Worden’s “Wikileaks: Making Things Harder for Hillary appeared in Seoul, Republic of Korea’s JoonAng Ilbo, and made the leap from there to Yahoo! Korea, on Jan. 17.
• The Deming, New Mexico Headlight ran David D’Amato’s “No Work for the Weary” on Jan. 19.
• The Headlight also published Darian Worden’s “Government Tampers with Juries and Tramples Justice” on Jan. 19th, as did the St. Joseph, Missouri Telegraph this morning, Jan. 21.
• The Des Moines, Iowa Free Press ran my own “Ivory Coast Power Struggle: 99 44/100% Pure Propaganda?” on Jan. 19.

This week, I submitted 10,212 C4SS op-eds to 2,788 publications. I added publications in the US, Guatemala, Guyana, Netherlands Antilles, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Trinidad and Tobago, Turks and Caicos, and the US Virgin Islands to my media lists.

C4SS commentaries have now been published on every continent except South America and Antarctica. I’m still working on those two (it’s possible that they’ve made it in South America and I’ve missed it!). By my quick and dirty count, they’ve appeared in 16 countries, 17 US states and two Canadian provinces (and in the latter two countries, de facto nationwide papers as well). I’m keeping an eye on, and working to raise, all of those metrics.
