This strikes me as very sound. I've read a few things on this topic, and this seems a solid pocket description of what went on.
Incidentally, an interesting thing that happened at the same time as the enclosures themselves was a concerted effort to stop the peasants from accessing value from wild spaces (e.g. draconic anti-poaching laws) so that they could not continue to survive on what little land they had left by supplementing their income. Note that these laws did not directly give the landowners much profit; the main point seems to have been to help push these people off the land, into wage employment in cities.
My recent post <a href="http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/PeaceOrderAndGoodGovernmentEh/~3/MG4xdl9p72M/003727.shtml" rel="nofollow">Campaign Capers: Crank calls?</a>
