It seems important to note, here, that the post-WW2 tradition of not declaring war makes it difficult to be sure whether anyone in particular is "the enemy" for purposes of a treason allegation. I would argue that since the USA is not in a declared war against Honduras, it is fatuous in the extreme, to the extent that it is not viciously false, to accuse anyone of treason in connection with meeting anyone in Honduras.

Unless Congress wants to have the guts to declare war, there is no "the enemy" to give aid and comfort to. Perhaps this point is the intention of the CIA and other spy agencies. They can manipulate any group, befriend and support any set of scum, buy opium from anyone they please, because there is no declared war they cannot be convicted of treason.

Treason is very clearly defined in the constitution. Fools who push the CIA agenda like Rachel Maddow ought to read the definition. I wouldn't object to a prior restraint on free speech in her case where she is compelled to read the definition before using the term, but I would justify such a restraint on the fact that her network, NBC, is owned by a giant baby-killing defense contractor, General Electric, and they ought to suffer a lot more than they do.

Here is the definition. It is from article 3, section 3 of the constitution for the united States of America. "Treason against the United States shall consist only in levying War against them, or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort. No Person shall be convicted of Treason unless on the Testimony of two Witnesses to the same overt Act, or on Confession in open Court."

Obviously, meeting with the leaders of Honduras is not treason. It makes no war. In fact, it might be helpful in avoiding a war.

Moreover, the "coup" in Honduras follows the rule of law in the current Honduran constitution, and is supported by their Congress and courts. The president of Honduras who was ousted in the coup, probably a CIA type, wanted to have a new referendum so he could be president for more terms. That's why he was ousted before the end of his term.

Here are some things that do make war on the United States. The war on drugs levies war on the American people. I believe the text of the constitution is quite clear that the people formed and in many ways are the United States - whether you believe that the constitution is right about these things, that is the context in which the war on drugs is treason. The war on terrorism as it is implemented makes war on the American people, which is why the borders and the airports are now armed camps.

The illegal and unconstitutional wars in Iraq and Afghanistan give aid and comfort to the enemy, cost huge amounts of money, and are of benefit primarily to giant baby killing military contractors, also known as death merchants, such as General Electric.

Maddow's pogrom against foreign policy initiatives by senators is madness. I have lost a great deal of respect for her.
